How to get to Denmark

By plane:

Denmark is part of Scandinavia and is located just on top of Germany and not far from Sweden, Norway, Holland and England. The capital of Denmark is Copenhagen and the airport is called Copenhagen airport (CPH) or Kastrup Lufthavn (www.cph.dk/en). The airport is very international and has connections to most places in the world. When you come out through custums just walk straight ahead and you will easily find the entrance to the train- and metro station.

The airport is located very close to the city center of Copenhagen and in order to get from the airport to Copenhagen Main Station (Københavns hovedbanegård), where you can join the festival bus, you have two options:

1. Take the train (ØR) directly to Copenhagen Central Station (Københavns hovedbanegård) (not to Sweeden/ Malmø!) (www.rejseplanen.dk). This is the easiest option.

2. Take the metro (M2) to Nørreport (www.m.dk) and from there take a southbound ‘s-tog’ train two stations to København H (Hovedbanegården). You can board any southbound ‘s-tog’ at Nørreport as all the trains will stop at København H.

By train:

Copenhagen Central Train Station is very international with connecting trains to almost anywhere in Europe. The station is located in the heart of Copenhagen and most people are very helpfull and speak english so don’t be afraid to ask for help. If you arrive to Copenhagen by train it will be easy for you to make your way to the festival bus which will pick people up outside of the station (Read more below).

If you want to see more of Copenhagen or Denmark while you are here, you can read more about the ticket types here: www.dsb.dk/om-dsb/in-english/city-passes/copenhagen and here www.dsb.dk/om-dsb/in-english/travelling-in-whole-denmark

HOW TO GET TO THE FESTIVAL VENUE

The school is located about a 35-40 minute drive by car from Copenhagen and you can either go there by car, take the festival bus or go by public transportation (by public transportation it takes between 1 hour and 20 minutes to 2 hours to get there). We would like to encourage people to travel in an environmentally friendly way, either by public transport or by sharing a ride. Denmark is also great for cycling so do bring a bike if you like.

Traveling on public transport:

There are trains from both the airport and Copenhagen Central Station directly to Roskilde train station. From Roskilde station you can get bus number 240 towards Ringsted and hop off at ‘Osted Friskole’ and then walk 300 meters.

A second option is to take a train towards Ringsted station’ and get off at ‘Viby Sjælland station’. Here you can take bus number 214 towards ‘Hvalsø station‘ and get off at ‘Osted Friskole’ after about 6 min. You can find the excact train and bus time tables here: http://www.rejseplanen.dk

In both cases you should buy a ticket for ‘Osted Friskole‘ or ‘Osted Fri og Efterskole’ at a ticket vending machine or the ticket office.
